removing abs controller (for good) 86 5ktq

Hi all.
 
I parked this car last August when I bought the avant.  Now I'm going to
race it.
 
Two of the abs wheel sensors have been destroyed in the course of other
work over the past years.  I am never going to spend the $$ for abs
sensors for this car as it will never again be a daily driver.  So I am
thinking of just removing the abs controller to have 1 fewer potential
problem area in future. 
 
Has anyone done this?  is it as straight forward as disconnecting the
lines from the abs and splicing them with connectors?
