Fuel line repair

Jim,
Although it is probably not the "proper" method, I have had success many times by using the correct ID fuel injection hose and slipping long section of rubber fuel line over the line to splice with multiple clamps, after cutting back to good line.
Cut out the bad section, go to FLAPS and find fuel or brake line of the same diameter.
Find rubber fuel line - fuel injection pressure rated preferably - that will barely slip over the line. You want a tight fit.
Cut and bend the metal line to shape of the section being replaced.
Insert end of new line in fuel inj. hose as far as possible - like 6" if possible. Slip other end over line on car. I find the permatex gasket seal (black gooey stuff in small can with brush) helps the line slide on and then seal. Use two proper size hose clamps on each place where rubber line is over metal. That's eight clamps total. Should be overkill but you don't want leaks.
I've done this several times. Never had a problem.

[Anybody successfully repaired a fuel line with a compression fitting?
Need to get this car back on the road soonest & lead time on new lines seems
to be measured in months.....
