The 1.8T is a 4-cylinder engine. All the Audi 4-cylinder engines
in a longitudinal orientation are mounted on the subframe. This applies
not only to the A4, but all 4000/80/90 cars with 4-cyl engines too.

Yup. I would use a 4x4 instead of a 2.4 for greater strength, though,
and use a strong threaded metal hook (which I can then fasten with a nut)
instead of a rope.
