Yep, that's what I always thought!!! Id see clutch on the deck before one of
those gave way. But when a car drives like that I could not believe it was
engine related!!!! Never been let down by an audi!!!!
So I need to get down to a friendly garage and get that darn crank bolt
loosened (btdt on a cgt) cos I know I wont shift it with hand tools!!

Ha, good luck breaking those driveshafts.  I do the
same thing in my car and they're still in one piece.

I'd bet you a case of beer if I was across the pond
that your belt has jumped.  You should see it with a
timing light because your cam is going to be way off
it's mark.
