Imported Audis?

Since you asked...long story but essentially a group of Ferrari 360s being
imported for the Ferrari Challenge; DOT says no to titles because they are
clearly road cars for resale; Ferrari USA, Owners Club etc provide written
testimony that they are for track use only; the cars have no interiors and
cages; DOT still says no; lawyers find a way to take DOT to court; DOT
agrees to back down if a Coke can cannot stand upright under the car's
rockers as they say that indicates beyond doubt that these can only be used
as track cars.

The story was documented in two episodes in Sports Car Market in 2001 and
2002.

Stranger than fiction!
