Help needed: Door hinges pin replacement

It shouln't be too hard to unplug the mirror and mirror switch, and 
window motor wires to get the door out of your way to work.  just pull 
off the door liner and it should be obvious.

I think I may have fought with a similar frustration on my coupe.  Along 
the way at some point I think I added a couple of washers to the lower 
hinge bolts, to sort of propr the door up at a slightly higher angle. 
Not really a solution, but it helped a bit.

I think then I swapped on some newer doors for some reason, which 
shouldn't have helped since the hinge is part of the body, but I think 
it did make things less embarrassing.

I suspect you will have to grind/drill in from the bottom of the hinge, 
but I would recommend, if you can, to practice on a junk car first to 
see if it really works.

I also messed around a lot with the pin in the door stop mechanism, as 
it was clanking quite loudly due to wear.  Ended up replacing then with 
small bolts.  had to drill out the holes slightly to do it.  That worked 
fairly well.
