Anyone have experience with old VW diesels???? Need help

No first-hand experience myself, but I'm subscribed to a Mercedes diesel
list that has a fair number of old VW diesel warriors -- and they THRIVE on
off-topic posts. You can sign up at www.mbz.org.

Sounds to me as though your glow plug circuitry has been compromised. On a
Benz diesel, that'll most definitely keep it from starting. Is there a glow
plug relay?
