"dizzy" = distributor, usually meaning the ignition distributor.  The 
Hall sender, in this case, is mounted on its side and reads the slotted 
cup inside the distributor cap to tell the ignition module when to fire 
the coil.

Hall senders can be used elsewhere, too, so be careful of 
overgeneralization.  I think they use one or two on the MC type engines 
to indicate flywheel position for more accurate spark regulation.
