Anyone know anything about metric sheet metal screws

I was missing a couple of screws for my Miata,
the ones that hold the sill trim on. My local ACE
hardware store has a wall of boxes of nuts and 
bolts. They had a couple trays marked "automotive 
fasteners" or some such.  I found what I needed
(don't remember if they were metric) and they
worked just fine.
