AC Fittings seal? on York '87 4kq compressor

In my experience, the York works great with R134a., in fact, trucking companies still used this exact model compressor in their new trucks. Guess what refridgerant it uses? ;)  converted my system to R134a and it works great. i get vent temps of  34-36*F (and no, the system is not freezing up). Yes, with R134a it takes longer to get really cold, but that more likely has to with the fact that the 4K/CGT system is always in recirc mode if the AC is on. That mean that you have to cool that 140*F air down to 34*, and that takes a while. if you could use fresh air from outside to purge out the 140* air, it might speed up. So, if the car has been sitting in the sunn and is really hot, open the windows and allow it to air out for a few as you drive off.

I am not sure it's going to be a good idea to convert the old York
to R134a.  Much better to go with a more modern compressor that
is designed for R134a.

That said, I have a service manual PDF file for the current versions
of these York compressors (which are now made by CCI, and are
physically identical to the old Yorks, as far as the fittings and
