metric tools - not so dumb question?

Official way of measuring consumption is based on litres of fuel used per
100 Km of distance covered.

Most people though measure it on a basis of money units (Eurocents) per
kilometer of distance  which of course is the result of litres per 100Km and
the cost of a litre of fuel.

Here in Greece a litre of 95 octace unleaded costs 0.75 Euros, while a litre
of 100 octane unleaded costs around 0.94 Euros.
