Aluminum CIS airbox?

i have seen similar aftermarket bits of kit like this before, basically an
aluminium plate with a tube and a cone airfilter that bolts to the fuel
dizzy. Aftermarket vw websites sell them.....

It looks like it would work real well for a turbo swap.  I used the top 
part of a Rabbit GTI air box for my swap and turned the distributor 
around.  The bottom half I made out of SS sheet metal.  That let me fit 
it under the hood without having to cut the fender.  This looks like it 
would allow a slightly lower height.  This might allow room for a few 
air molecules between the passenger side headlight and the fuel 
distributor (DOT lights will not fit anymore - not enough room).  Of 
course then you would need to find space for a cone filter of some sort.
