FW: [megasquirt] Definition of Acceleration

Directly next to my shop there is a good friend of ours who runs top fuel. I have seen him idleing the motor outside and its an incredible experiance just to stand next to it while it's ideling. The ground shakes, and each time a cylinder fires you feel it with every bone in your body. I have sitting here on my desk a piston from a good run, it was a 4.9 something. The piston is partly melted, the upper compression ring landing is ok, but both the lower compression and the oil ring landing are mostly melted away. Amazingly though the piston doesn't seem to be anything incredibly special. It's plain aluminium, not very big (size is restricted), but it is very well re-inforced. The wrist pin hole looks to be in the area of 27mm, and the side walls where the wrist pin goes are easily 30mm thick. The rest of the side wall is about 10mm. It's flat top, except one valve deression which is about 1/3rd of a circle, and better then 50mm. I have seen a set of heads sitting on the benc!
h and could easily intert my fist into an intake port. Last I saw it had 32 fuel injectors, 2 per cylinder, then another 8 higher up in the intake manifold and another 8 in the blower.

Truly incredible stuff!

>* A stock Dodge Hemi V8 engine cannot produce enough power to drive
