Anyone else having problems with Performance Motorcars?

At one point, I received an email from Performance Motorcars or Direct Parts Online, describing some kind of falling out of sorts between some different parties.

Then I started getting the same promotion emails I was getting from Performance Motorcars, only they were now coming from Direct Parts Online. The website of the latter looks just like the former. I figured it was just a name change and the same folks were operating under the new name.

I had good luck with them as PMC, but I don't recall whether I've even placed an order with DPO since the change. One thing I have noticed about the DPO website, is that their on hand inventory levels seem to be down. Many items I inquired on simply were not there, even tho' I they were items that it seems like they might normally carry.

Prior to the change, I had good luck with Nannette responding to my various queries. They had all these funky promotions where you would get a discount if you ordered by a certain day, and free shipping if you ordered over a certain amount, and an even further discount if your order ended in $.99, which is fun playing with the shopping cart system adding onesy-twosy fuses and such to try to get to match up. I followed all the rules and the discounts didn't get calculated automatically, but Nannette was responsive and I did get all my credits. I had to deal with her on two occasions for these types of ordering issues, but it was very smooth and no unresolved problems.

Rod at TPC has been for years and continues to be a great source, but it is certainly convenient to search for parts myself and see the prices and occasionally the Worldpac photos online, instead of having to call and take up someone's time. There's also SJM Autotechnik and Chris Semple at Force 5 Automotive and others for parts of course.

Cheers,

Ken
