Knock with SAAB APC

I've had a few occasions where I was being forced to tune 20vt engines by
ear due to overtorqued knock sensors that didn't give a correct output
signal when knock occured and the ECU didn't do anything against it. Kind
of sucked but worked ok (with a microphone in the engine bay though) and
one of the cars has done 30k+ miles on the remap at 360+ HP and 420+ lb/ft
of torque. When we later fitted 2 brand new knock sensors, the ECU has
never pulled the advance back due to knocking, and now it's sure they were
good as the ECU would retard the advance with no audible pinging on 95 RON
fuel (tuned it for 98 RON).
But it had forged pistons as it was an AAN motor...
