Low voltage in battery, all the time

I mean whatever pumps to open the air powered door
locks, and I think it also locks the differential as
well.  It sounds like an air pump (compressor) and I
heard it run twice after the car was turned off. 
Reason I think that is I did notice once time after
the car was sitting for 5 days, there was no voltage
in the battery, and when I went to open the driver
door, the others did not open, and it didn't make that
groaning noise it usally does when all the locks open.
