Exactly. Stay on your original track. The 20vt is
more "bolt on", and will get you past 500 hp, but now
you have drivetrain issues to worry about, etc..
I assure you my car will be in the 12's with some race
gas next time I get to the strip(assuming I can drive
right). Probably low 13's on pump gas. Get the motor
ready, I'd use some inconel exhaust valves, ARP rod
bolts and headstuds, smooth out the ports in the head,
all metal head gasket, S4 windage tray, and your done.
Use that two-piece EM, then move to a header (Javad's
taking deposits now) after EFI goes in. Use the Supp
controller to learn about programming, then the switch
to full EFI will be easy.
See, isn't that easy?:)
BTW, use the MC motor, MUCH easier to tune. When
shooting for 300+ hp on a 10vt, the you really need
the lower compression for it to run properly on pump
gas. The MC2 ends up being way to retarded on timing
at those levels for my tastes.
