It's not.  Although I try never to use absolutes... you must have been 
looking at the wrong mark.  The flywheel only goes on one way, so it's 
TDC mark *must* coincide with TDC at #1.

There are several markings on the flywheel - the one that looks like an 
"0" is TDC - but of course, only when it is the right part of the tranny 
case "window" - pictures in the manual show where it is supposed to be.

There are usually markings at 6 and 12 DBTDC, and perhaps more.
