55mph shimmy

My '88 80q has a distinct shake in the steering wheel
at 55-58mph.  It only does it at these speeds.
I noticed yesterday that it seems to be worsening and
acts particularly strong if I'm cornering slightly.

Any thoughts on what kind of boot or such may be
deteriorating?
