In this they took three drivers from three disciplines from each nation and put them in provided identical cars and competed on a track similar to a rally special stage. Thought it was going to funny watching a big name (forgot who) nascar driver (since we had no big name rally drivers) screw up, but after a bit he was doing well.
That's exactly what she's been doing. She was the initiator and driving
force behind what's now called the [Michelin] Race of Champions, an
annual event originally held in honor of Henri Toivonen, a Finnish rally
driver who was killed along with his co-driver in the 1986 Rally Corsica.
(Trivia: this effectively lead to the dismissal of Group B cars as too
dangerous, even though the lenghts of the legs and stages on the rally
were inhumane, and Toivonen was clearly just exhausted from all the driving)
The Nations' Cup is part of the event, but it also features head-to-head
races among individual competitors, not only teams. The cream of
different fields of motorsport (rally cars, open wheel, touring cars,
bikes, ...) is invited to the race each year.
