Actually, that was someone else - I have used silicon spray, though, 
whenever I have worried about that.  Seems to work well.

It could work, but sounds a bit too messy for me.

Pep Boys, probably - probably a 4 oz tube of Permatex for about $3.

But, like I said, I use spray for door seals.  And don't forget the 
graphite for the locks... and a propane torch to move the frozen air out 
of your way to get to the car...
