Turbo idle-down

It's also nonsense, as your turbo slows down nearly instantly...they 
don't have that much momentum(that's done on purpose, remember?)

Lot of people I know do this at the track events in the summer, but 
the difference is that the hood is open, and it's mostly to cool down 
oil temps, which really get up...but it also cools down some engine 
internals a little.  There's certainly a point of diminishing 
returns- a few minutes are all that's needed, and if you leave the 
hood open, convection takes care of the rest after you shut down.
