Orange County advice needed (no Audi content)

Sorry for the WOB, but I thought I may be able to get some advice from 
some of the listers.

Looks like I have a job offer in San Juan Capistrano, and since I live 
in Calgary, Alberta, I don't know much about the place. I have been in 
the area, so I have an idea about the location, but that's about it. I 
am wondering about living expenses, apartment rental, and other details 
you may be able to offer. I would be going by myself for starters.
