Federally (US) mandated minimum warranty for emissions

Having dealt professionally with emissions systems and catalytic converters
since their inception, and being in the position of having to replace
several per month, it has been quite evident to me over the long run that
rich running is the primary cause of premature converter failure. If you
ask any experienced exhaust tech or smog tech about it, I believe you'll get
the same answer. A rich condition will make that converter literally glow
cherry red, and the monolith melts and disintegrates. John
