dino to synth - Turbo problems?

I am a synthetic oil user and booster; for you though, I'd question the
wisdom of changing something that was obviously working well :).
My only horror story involves an '85 jetta. I switched to synthetic oil
at about 125k, and within 2000 miles had no end of oil leaks. In that case,
hindsight showed the switch to be not worth it. Having new leaks spring up
upon switching to synthetic lubricant after a long period of non-synthetic
use is not uncommon.
