> I have owned my '90 CQ20v for almost two years now and I must say I love it! (Keep in mind it is my first Audi and first AWD) My friend has a A4 2.8 Quattro automatic that I have driven since I bought mine. Although the A4 has more power and torque (not all that noticeable), I still get as much enjoyment out of driving my CQ. I especially like the fact that they are rare and therefore you don't see many other people driving them.

As far as performance upgrades to increase power and torque, there are few judging from the posts on the quattro and 20v lists. I have heard some good comments about chips from some owners, though I wouldn't expect much. There are several chips available at any given point in time on eBay from Germany. I myself have no experience with them as I am interested in keeping my car bone stock. (I will get into the upgrades once I can afford to purchase a TT).

If the car is available at a good price, I think that you will be happy with it (that is, if you don't expect a drag racer).

The latter was my first Audi and is still around for sentimental reasons, but at ~180,000 mi (odometer no longer working), it's seldom driven and I really need to get rid of it. I'm currently driving a '95 Saab convertible, but want to replace it with an Audi.

> I have an opportunity to purchase a 1990 coupe quattro with 102,000 mi. I won't have an opportunity to drive the coupe quattro before purchase, so I'm looking for some advice on whether or not to buy it. I'll have a mechanic check out the car, so the car's mechanics aren't a significant concern to me. What is of concern is whether I'll enjoy driving the car. I loved the A4, before I turned it over to my daughter, and don't want to be disappointed with the '90 coupe quattro. I also always liked the '88 80q, but it was underpowered, especially compared to the A4. Is the increased power of the 20v engine in the '90 Coupe quattro going to be similar enough to the A4 to make the car enjoyable to drive?
