MAF sensor warranty-Fault codes?

I just got a warranty letter for this, thought I'd
bring it in to get done on my 00 A6 2.7t,  the Audi
Stealerships are going to charge me 100 bucks if the
incorrect codes don't come up.
My mechanic just ran them for free, but I need to know
if they are the correct ones. Something came up "long
term fuel system" and something about "fuel trim" 
That and the check engine light comes on and off,
mostly during the large differential temp changes, has
me guessing it is probably the MAF. Just don't want to
pay the stealership 100 bucks to hook it up and say
"nope, it aint the MAF"
