1997 S6 with 6 speed?

All of the '92 - '96/'97? S cars sold in the US and Canada came
only with 5 speeds.  It was a different 5 speed (type 01E) based on
the 6 speed.  Most 5 speed Quattro's used the the 016 transmission.
It's easy to put a 6 speed into an S car of that vintage.  I've got
an extensive rundown on the 01E, with ratios, which one came in what
car, and some discussion of which ones are stronger and why.  It's

I'd look on some of the S-Car web sites.  Those are linked off
my general Audi page in the sig below.  I'm not real sure that the
S-Cars were even brought into Canada in '97.
