Odd spark plug colour

When I was having problems with the 5000CDTQ running rough, the colour
of the plugs was rust/orange, except for #2 which had a bit of black.
Changed the hitension wires to the plugs and the car runs smooth, pulls
strong in any gear, idles properly, in other words is running well.
Pulled one plug today to see if the colour has changed. No, it is still
rust / orange.

Therefore this must be a normal colour under some conditions. I buy gas
from an independent so I don't know the brand, sometimes put Lucas
injector cleaner in with a tank, live in SW Ontario Ca. BTW my plugs are
those Bosch with 4 (I think, at least 3 anyway) side electrodes. I don't
know if that would make any difference.

Cheers
George

The colour was an orange colour almost like rust, never seen this before just wondered if anyone out there has any kind of explanation. I do use an ocatane booster in the fuel but can't believe it's that. Car runs fine.
