> Have you looked at the Kelly Blue Book value? www.kbb.com
At one time the Blue Book quoted a UK ur-quattro 20V at GBP1500 - when they were changing
hands for GBP14500 _MINIMUM_.
I was involved with the UK ur-quattro Owners Club at the time, so I went down to see the
producers of this so-respected tome. It was only on paper at the time.
I can't call it a "one man and a dog operation", since there were two men. And a dog. In a
two-room flat (downmarket appartment - very down) above an ethnic greengrocer's on the
Cromwell Road in London. You have to know the area to appreciate the depravation, the peeling
wallpaper, leaking ceilings, etc..
They freely admitted that they took no input from the market - they had a spreadsheet, new
prices, double-declining balance depreciation and correction for inflation. It was a Quattro
Pro (ironic, but true) spreadsheet. Their daily activity consisted only of capturing new
models and prices - no feedback from market conditions entered their algorithms.
I showed them proof that they were WAY off base with the ur-quattro, and their response was to
delete it from their models. "We don't deal with exotics."
