Greetings and Salutations fellow Audiphiles!
The patient is a 87 4KQ Junk Yard Deserter I started working on a few
weeks ago.
After the T-belt, 4 newer tires, fuel pump relay, etc... I got to test
drive it on the snowy tarmac.
I noticed some drive line noise under acceleration just aft of the front
seats, approximately at the
station of the prop shaft and the rear diff.
I am suspecting the rear CV on the center drive shaft. I got the car w/
the center drive shaft
disconnected - I think it was off for 2 years. When I was ready to
connect it to the rear diff I
noticed how contaminated the grease was. After I found an old tube of CV
grease I decided
to repack it - So I did.
Now I'm wondering if there's an alignment issue - or maybe a gasket
missing between the CV
and the rear Diff, ... or even CV gone Bye-Bye? Any BTDTs?
I don't have a Bentley (yet! BTW, anybody have a used one for sale?).
I checked the archives but couldn't find a pointer in any direction.
TIA, guys! I can't wait to let this thing go on the snow (love going
sideways)!
