It works in my '85 4k.  That does not mean I don't intend to change it.  
I don't like the lack of the safety feature, but we had our first kid 
less than 2 weeks after I got the turbo swap running and it has not yet 
made it back up the priority list.   I am using a regular bosch 40amp relay.
