snow and quattro (torsen)

When I was out last night in the snow, my 90q seemed to be lacking in power,
in high gears (4&5) it seemed to not be able to accelerate from 20 mph...
while normally it will accelerate fairly cleanly in 5th.  Is this something
to do with the centre differential? As I was driving on ice/snow it would be
doing some work, but could this result in an apparent loss of power?
