And they still make about 1000 mistakes a year.  They try to acknowledge 
and correct them all - the more important ones can create distortions of 
fact, a thing a major newspaper wants to avoid.

Naw, unforgivable mistakes are things like blowing up foreign countries 
based on faulty intelligence.  What was the worst that could happen 
here, some person goes to the WMB dealer asking for a 1.8 turbo in his 
new car?

Exactly.  If it had been subject matter that *mattered*...  Why not 
write to Christine whatshername, the "ombudsman" (pretty odd title for a 
woman...), I bet she'll kiss those little sores and make them feel 
better in a fine diplomatic fashion.

Or would you prefer that I try to hijack the man somewhere on his test 
driving jaunts here in NH (what's he driving this week? you gotta be a 
bit jealous of that job!) and hassle him for risking Western 
Civilization with his slacker attitude?
