help! typ44: exhaust smell when heater is on

Another thing you could do would be to open the hood and see if you 
smell exhaust there. Or listen for exhaust leaks like others have 
mentioned.

Also, if you're concerned you could get one of those portable CO meters 
meant for home use. They detect a pretty low reading (~10-20 ppm) and 
max out much lower than most exhaust systems. By taking readings at the 
heater vent, blower inlet, and engine bay you may be able to determine 
where it's coming from.

Plus, it's just an added safety thing now that you've got a baby riding 
in your baby :o)
