On the '84 4KQ the reset was in a little box located in the
fresh air plenum under the hood, right in line with the speedo
cable. Speedo cable attached to the box, then a short speedo
cable went to the IC. The reset was behind a small rubber
plug in the box. I don't know if the reset is the same in the '87,
but if it's on the IC itself, it's easily reached by pulling the top
cover of the IC in the dash. I'd expect it'll be right near where
the speedo cable attaches to the IC.
