HEllo All:
I had reset my ox sensor lamp a few times, as the 'reset' would not seem to
last.
Final solution was to remove the light bulb..

Actually, the best solution is to remove the entire elapsed timer mechanism. The additional drag it puts on the odometer assembly contributes to the failure of the odometer much sooner. Basically the mechanism just slides off and/or remove the spring that actuates it. If you analyse how it works, you can see that at the time the gear comes around to trip the switch at 60kmile increments puts such force on the assembly, it oftern causes the speedo gear to crack or split - earlier than it would have anyway. That is why you see the odometers oftern stopped at 120k (plus a few) etc. I think that leaving the unit not properly reset will hasten its demise even more.
Several of these units have more than one elapsed indicator - one for O2 and the other for other service reminders such as EGR, timing belt, etc.
I don't beleive these things ever did me any good. Do most folks replace the O2 sensor when they reset or just ignore it, since the 60kmi does not mean the sensor is actually bad, but that it may need servicing?
