Spark Issues

I'm having spark issues on my 88 80q. Today is overcast here in the NE and I figured it would be a better time to look for spark on my non-starting 2.3l. I remove the ignition cable from the car and test it. 2100 ohms. I wonder if any one out there can verify a reading on one of theirs. The cable is labeled as a 1k ohm cable so the 2100 ohms I'm getting is nearly double that.

I replace the cable on the ignition coil side and get the other end very close to a ground. When I have my son turn the car to ON not START it shoots a brief orange spark across. When you hold the key in the START position (cranking the car over) I get no spark at all.
