You asked if anyone successfully removed these c-clips. You didn't say
'in one piece' or 'in good condition'. LOL After soaking with Kroil or
something similiar, I use a small punch and hammer to tap the end of the
clip out of the groove. There is usually a hole in each end. put the
punch in that hole angled towards the other end and slightly into the
centre. Tap with BFH until it slides out of the groove. At this point 2
flat screw drivers can be worked between the clip and the groove until
you can pry the clip out.
Patience, Kroil, and leverage!
