Windows and Sun Roof not working.

I had this problem on my '89 200Q and found two wires were broken about 
6" inside the door at a junction where about 8 wires are welded 
together. I cut out the weld joint and connected the wires with a wire 
nut. Before I found and fixed the problem the windows and sunroof were 
intermittent and would work when the door was opened to a certain 
position. When the problem first occurred, I pulled the rubber boot back 
and inspected the wires. None were broken in the hinge area.
