1984 4000 Quattro - Parts Car

The front drive shafts of my fairly rare '84 Quattro have finally given
out. It is available virtually for free as a parts car, if someone wants
to get it from Ithaca NY.

It is black, some rust, no rot through. The expensive taillight assemblies
are fine. It has about 200K miles, the engine is about as strong as it
ever was, but I now check the oil every thousand miles or so. The
transmission sometimes is buttery, sometimes it is a bit tight (but it
never grinds), it has been this way since about 1990. It has a new Midas
exhaust, front and back (but not catalyst). Under 200 mi and about 8
months on the exhaust. Plenty of tread on both winter and summer tires
(separately mounted, but wheels not in pretty condition). Summers are high
performance 215x50, winters are also high quality high performance winters
at stock 195x60.

Front brakes close to new, rears close to dead. LF strut I think is shot.

I am more interested in helping out another quattro owner than making money
(I also have a '98 A6 and a 2001 TT roadster, all three are first year on
platform, my '58 Porsche Cabrio is my only non-quattro).
