a6 musings

I've gone from '865KT(2 of them)->'875KTQ->'91200q20v->'00A6biturbo/6-speed
With the older cars, I felt more connected to the road. The A6 is
quite fast and better in a lot of ways. Service scares me a little,
just because it so much more complex. I bought a VAG-COM to help me
out there.
The 4.2 A6 is nice, but I wanted to stick with the whole turbo quattro thing...
On my A6, I have a leaky valve cover gasket (not unheard of) and need
to replace the seals on the turbo oil return lines. I hear you need to
keep an eye on the bypass valves (bought a Mity-Vac to help with
that).
I think if you find a nice used one, you'll be quite happy.

FWIW, the sport package might be nice. I don't have it, but tend to
think it would help the ride.

The wider bodywork really beefs up the A6 body - which always looked a little amorphous to me... It looks great in grey.... I always liked the 2.7T as well, thought that it was a great 'Q-ship', even though it doesn't have the wider body of the 4.2....
