5kcstq hot start fyi

This is a common vacuum leak problem.

An easy emergency solution for a ripped hose is to disconnect both of them
and then attach the good one to the engine side. Then plug the other end of
the hose with a magic marker. They fit perfectly.

Its also an easy way to check for vacuum leaks anywhere upstream (like the
cam cover gasket, dip stick gasket, etc.).

I think the only disadvantage is a bit more pollution.

hey all,
this is more of an fyi for the archives than anything else, and hope it may
help someone someday.
Most of the archived posts point to fuel injectors and/or fuel pump check
valve(as well as checking for vacuum leaks). By accident, he came across
the breather hose that connects to the valve cover and saw a rip.
New breather hose: $13+shipping
No hot start problems, no more having to hear your wife screaming at you for
being unable to leave the dentists office: Priceless
