> Please tell me you removed the head before you installed the Helicoil.
If not the cylinder the will be toast due to the garbage from drilling the sparkplug out.
A customer made this mistake and the repair was pricey.

You can get away with it by comprehensively packing the cylinder with wet oily rags before
installing the helicoil.  A vacuum won't work because small debris will always get down
between the piston and the top ring.

Even so, it's best to warn the customer that this may not work.

My concern remains - was the cause of the original plug ejection determined?  If not, summat
nasty is going to happen again.
