best rental car

Speaking of rental cars, I know that a few of you do some good 4wheeling in
rental cars. You never know how far into the brush you can take a Ford
Taurus...until you try!

However, I've rented a number of actual 4x4s and gone offroading. The
contract, if you read carefully, specifically bars that, but if you don't
read it carefully, you won't know.

I've taken Land Rovers up the unimproved roads with the NH Land Rover
Owners' Association, 3 miles in 4 hours (this was before I owned Landies). I
rented a Disco in San Jose, drove down to Hollister Hills and played in the
4x4 playground there. I've rented Explorers and gone offroading in the
desert outside Phoenix, and of course rented the requisite CJ5 on Honolulu.
Was glad to be in an Explorer rather than the CJ driving to Hanna on Maui!

Oh, and the Taurus in the corn field in Dallas, but it wasn't my
fault...NeverLost made me do it!!!

Mandatory Audi Content - when my '02 A6 was in the shop getting sway bars
installed, I borrowed a Chrysler Pacifica. My only question to the designers
of this thing is - why?
