Real-world value of A4 Quattro Sport?

KBB, Edmunds.com, NADA, etc are never really going to agree totally, but a
nice middle ground somewhere usually yields some idea of the market value.
Of course, that is ultimately decided by how much the buyer wants the item
and how badly the seller needs to part with it. Economics lesson aside,
having worked in sales at an Audi dealership for 2.5 years up till last
June, I can tell you that's way over trade value, but likely not too far off
retail. It still sounds high for a '97, being that it was the first year
for 1.8T's in the US, and they have had a few issues the later 1.8's
haven't, but again the condition of the car is vital here. Lastly, the
options on a car are there for your enjoyment, and unless they make the car
super-rare and desirable, aren't going to get you much back when you sell
it. You'll find by going to cars.com and searching used car values using
their link to Black Book online (the only "real" source out there, in that
it's directly linked to weekly auto auctions occurring nationwide and what
dealers really use, not NADA) that about the only thing a wholesaler will
adjust for are automatic transmissions, sunroofs, and leather interior.....
on just about any car.
