Hello listers,
I've purchased a used '95 A6 wagon fwd w/125k miles for my wife. When the
car is cold, first drive of the day or after sitting many hours, the
transmissiom will behave a bit differently. When starting from a complete stop the car
will stay in 1st gear up to around 3500 rpm before shifting to 2nd. This will
occur a couple times, and then it will behave as normal shifting out of 1st
earlier around 2000 rpm, and continue to act normally thereafter. I have had a
garage change the fluid and filter, and it still behaves the same way. They
also scanned for codes and found nothing. They claim this is normal in many
models of this vintage. I have driven others and owned another from the same
era ('93 & '94) and have never experienced this behavior. Can anybody validate
or confirm their claim or are they full of bs? What's gonna happen when it
is in the middle of winter and 10 degrees outside?
Thank you in advance,
B. Parenteau
