80q road noise

I have been experiencing a noise coming from the l/f corner of my 80q. This noise resembled that of a bad bearing so I replaced the wheel bearing and the noise is still there. Any attempt to load up the corner by means of steering to the right, letting off the gas or driving a well cambered road gets me a loud growl that is from the left front. Will a cv go bad and make this noise and not click like I am used to hearing? The car was just aligned so camber and tow should be in spec. Tires are new with no abnormal wear.
