Ameer,
I had the same trouble when I did my seals a couple of months ago. It
turned out that the napa dealer actually received the installation tool
with the parcel, but thaught it was a scrap piece of plastic. It had
one end that was a tight fit over the cam, and the other end was reduced
to allow for ease of seal installing. I didn't have the tool, so I used
a small soft plastic screw driver and pulled the lip of the seal out as
I installed it. Worked for me and no leaks.
Just for a visual on the install tool, it looked like the butt end of a
baseball bat, about 4" long.

Subject: HELP! How to Install Camshaft Seal??? (I-5 motor)
So what's the trick to installing the front cam seal on the 5-cyl.
motors w/o the factory tool? I just drove mine in tonight and the inner
lip folded over and about half of the inner lip is sticking out over the
camshaft. The Bentley shows what looks like a very expensive tool. I'd
rather avoid that if I can... Can I drive the seal in there w/o the
camshaft and then slide the cam in there after? I'm thinking maybe I
could just bolt down the #1 bearing cap and leave the others off. Any
advice much appreciated. Also I'd like to hear of any good OEM parts
places to buy from locally in New England (I think TPC might take too
long). TIA.
