The 4kq is back to life!

Well guys... After cutting the belly of the fuel tank open and pulling off the fuel screen, I wasn't able to weld it back up. The angle grinder cut was too wide, and the going was exceedingly tricky, especially around the fuel tubes. The resulting product leaked terribly and we couldn't do anything to get it to stop. Welds on welds, etc... So the tank was trashed and another was sourced from a local boneyard, Quattro South, in Black Mountain, NC. Great place; the owner, Russell, was very personable and knowledgable.

Bolted the tank in this morning, fired it up, sounded like it was only running on a couple of cylinders, got some fresh spark plugs and installed them, and the car runs like a champ. No more cutting out around hard corners, to my great satisfaction.

It's so nice to drive it again. Still runs pig rich all the time, but I suspect from reading the discussions on the list that it's the ECU temp sender on the back of the head that's at fault. Anybody got a part number for that? Is it something I can order from thepartsbin.com or do I need to call the dealership?

Thanks,

Matt
